So I didn't plan on watching the MTV movie awards. It's just an advertising and marketing machine, but hey so is mainstream media right? (You can read more about that here.) Anyway, I was bored and I figured if anything they could entertain me for all of four seconds in between tweets.

Interestingly enough, the show was up and twittering itself which was useful because I tuned in half way through just in time to see the infamous Bruno/Eminem full face crotch plant. I didn't find this in itself funny at first but, it only took a few moments of the rapper's entourage trying to pry them apart for me to be rolling in laughter. When they finally got the very funny comedian Sasha Baron Cohen off of him Eminem stormed off. Luckily MTV was nice enough to tweet about it with "Is Eminem coming back?" and "Eminem has left the building!" Blogger's and Social's alike are now speculating the incident was planned. I can definitely see that. However, I doubt Eminem was in on it at all. He doesn't seem like the type of person that would be up for that and he geuinely looked P.O'd afterward. MTV always tends to mess with Eminem at their shows. As shown with past encounters with "Triumph the Insult Comic Dog"
None the less it did make for a hilarious moment and puns stemming from it.

I stayed tune to watch a few celeb's although they were mostly B-lister's omitting Cameron Diaz and a few others. It was mostly young Hollywood as expected for an MTV event. Megan Fox, Hayden Panettiere, Vanessa Hudgens and her boyfriend, and Leighton Meester all looked hot enough to fry an egg on. Of course, the people there looked attractive enough, making the show eye candy and more watchable.

Speaking of candy i.e pleasing for a short time with no nutritional value at all. Twilight related media was galore. Most of the night was spent advertising and advertisement for the series. In this case the preview for the upcoming "New Moon." Now I must confess, I have trouble resisting going on a tangent about my distaste for the Twilight series. I will say this; I read the first one and half of the second one. I then got to the part where she lays in the forest for seven hours. I put the book down and said "I can't read this any longer." A parody of the trailer was made before hand by the host of the show and was deceptively told to be real before showing. Needless to say millions of prepubescent girls everywhere were angry. The actual trailer was shown after the longest commercial brake (for ad revenue of course.) I watched it and midway through I thought to myself "I may actually watch this film. Congratulations, Twilight, you've recaptured my attention." Only to see the most horrific display of computer graphics when the character of Jacob transformed into a lion type creature... <big>Wtf?</big >

Overall the show served it's purpose of exactly that. A show. I don't think it should be taken seriously as an award show though..
